I had a stall at the Brighton Photography Festival! I only had about three days notice, but managed to cobble a stall together!
The whole thing was organised By Kirstie Blake of Event Exposures, she’s about my age so I did feel quite humbled by what she was able to achieve, in three months no less!
I had a really good weekend and got lots of work enquiries which was brilliant, I met a few other photographers that I talk to on Twitter and it was great putting names to faces. It was strange having people I didn’t recognise coming up to me asking if I was “Laura Sheppard”![]()
The journey down to Brighton, zooming though the tranquil countryside, -ruining it with Black Sabbath blaring from the stereo !

Brighton Marina

My stall before…

…and after!

People kept trying to buy my wooden box but I love it too much. Plus it’s Ross’ bedside table so he wouldn’t have been best pleased…

Dug this out of Dad’s garage, I love it! I can’t believe he just had it under the work bench, he’s let me keep it![]()

This is Paul from Clock Tower Cameras, he sold me my first SLR, a Canon AE-1 and a 50mm f1.8 and I ‘m so pleased that was what he recommended. Having the restrictions of a prime lens with manual everything really forces you to consider each shot.

They were selling lots of these fun ‘toy’ cameras, I pored over them for quite a while!

There were lots of good talks and demonstrations, Kirstie thought of everything!

At any point during the weekend, there was nearly always at least one person battling with a reflector…

The Paps!

The Swing Ninjas were very good. This was them playing “I Wanna Be Like You” from The Jungle Book, this was his King Louie impression!

A huge thank you to Ross for sitting with me all weekend, despite having worked a very busy week himself.
So, what did everyone else make of the day?! I hope you all had fun!
