Part Two of Our Cider Making Escapades!

I’m finally blogging again! Having gotten my computer fixed after the hard drive died MONTHS AGO, I then promptly threw a drink all over it, wail! Now I have finally got myself up and running again (with a shiny new iMac) so I can proceed as usual! For any newcomers to my blog, you may not have seen the first instalment of our home-made cider project, you can see it here: http://ljsheppardphotography.com/blog/part-one-of-our-cider-making-escapades/ This is part two, the pressing of the apples! We did this around November but it’s taken me this long to get my computer sorted!

Again, we travelled down to our friend Claire’s house in the campervan!

Moody morning skies…

We felt a bit like we were in a Muller yoghurt advert trundling around in the campervan! I didn’t photograph the long line of exasperated cars behind us as this small hill brought us down to 35 miles per hour!

One day, I want to live somewhere like this…

Ross building the cider press

Scrubbing the fermenting equipment

Apples all picked from Claire’s trees, that really is local produce!

We chopped the apples and then pulped them with a wood chipper we picked up for £10 in a boot fair! This is about to be pressed.

Gorgeous Autumnal light

The first press!

Sampling our pure, freshly pressed apple juice, it doesn’t come much fresher!

Thanks Amy! Yes it was so much fun! We’re going to have a very cheap, drunken summer! x
