So We Got Engaged!

I’ve always wanted to go to Scotland, Ross had been a few times before we were together so I’ve been going on about it for ages! I was so excited when he told me we were going, he booked a little cottage in the middle of nowhere, with a fireplace and it was so romantic, we were quite high up and the views of the mountains were stunning. But I still had no idea Ross was planning to propose!

We spent one afternoon looking round the Dewar’s Whiskey Distillery which was really interesting, and there was a free sample at the end! 🙂

Imagine living somewhere like this!

This is Dunkeld, the nearest town

Our cottage!

On the trip from the airport we stopped at all the farm shops we could find and bought lots of gorgeous foods, I was full up for most of the trip!Note the pan-fried slice of haggis, so tasty!

This morning we went for a walk, Ross said there was a place he’d been to last time that he wanted to show me. He was all smartly dressed and I didn’t know why, I wouldn’t shut up and kept badgering him about why he was wearing a smart shirt and he kept avoiding the question. I really need to learn to take a hint! 🙂

First though, we had a walk around the cottage

I wanted to keep this… Ross wouldn’t let me. He said he’d end up being the one that had to clean it, he’s probably right! 😉

Me being uncomfortable (and freezing!) in front of the camera

This was the place…

The best picnic ever!

And then he said there was something he had to do, and got down on one knee! When he asked me, I think I replied with “Obviously!…Thank you!” or something, then I felt silly standing up so I joined him on my knees too. Then we realised we were both in a puddle…

I was trying not to cry, then it snowed!

Drumroll please…

It was his grandmother’s, I feel very honoured

I started to feel like I was in Twilight. (Yes I know I’m too old for Twilight but I don’t care!)Sadly there had been something like a bad storm or falling boulders that had caused some damage

This was a viewing room

Heading home

Scotland was absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to go back, maybe for an anniversary! Now we’re starting to plan our wedding, it’s very interesting to see everything from the client’s perspective! And the big question: Who will be my photographer?! 😀
